The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in ULE (gifted education) learned about their brains! They then had to build a model representing the parts of their brain! They turned out awesome!
Big shoutout to the parents who brought in food/drinks for the teachers/staff and decorated the workroom during conferences this week! Such cute decor! Big thanks to the Hohn family for organizing it! We appreciate it so much and thanks in advance for the meal on Thursday!!
On Feb. 1st, the Skyforce invited Jane Addams students to come to their game for free through donated tickets from Dakotah Bank! Thank you! They even got to make a fan tunnel to slap hands with the starters before the game started! What a neat experience! All of the students and fans cheered loudly for the Skyforce win! Thanks for having us!
Kids had lots of fun swimming at Embe this month! There are always such fun memories made swimming with friends!

Exciting news for our K-3 students as they found out what parts they will officially be in the musical, Finding Nemo! Each grade will dress as their sea creature! How fun!
The Science Club learned about the 3 states of matter and then applied what they learned to make ice cream. Thanks to all of the volunteers who made this possible! So fun and yummy!!
Each time your child makes a purchase at the School Store it helps the 4th and 5th graders earn money for their class trip this spring so thank you for your support!

On Wednesday afternoons from 1:00-3:00 pm, the 4th and 5th graders practice their lines and practice singing/dancing to all of the songs in preparation for the Finding Nemo musical on March 21! We are excited to see their performance!! Thanks for all of the hard work to the kids and all of the parents helping in every way to get ready!
Kids Care happens once a month for the 4th and 5th graders! This month they volunteered at Miss Jasper's House, St. Francis' House, Ronald McDonald House, Lifescape, and some students made tie blankets at school! Kids Care is such a good way for our students to learn stewardship and the importance of volunteering our time to those in need!

Have you seen the Tradition of Caring commercial on Keloland featuring some of our All City students and third grade teacher? This summer these individuals worked with the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation to celebrate 15 years of providing support to our Sioux Falls Public Schools! Miss Leloux and many other teachers from Jane Addams have written grants to provide extra opportunities for our students! Some of the grants Jane Addams have received over the years include VR (virtual reality) headsets, robots, dissection kits, science/STEM labs, games for Family, Outdoor Classroom materials, microscopes, Drumfit yoga balls, books, circuit building kits, laser mazes, magnatiles, marble runs, iPads, Osmos, Ozobots, handheld microscopes, coding materials, and so much more! We are so thankful for all these learning hands-on opportunities from Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation over the years!!! Miss Leloux's third graders visited the assisted living residents at Dow Rummel last Friday afternoon. Students went around to their rooms to hang up Valentine's Day decorations and mingle with the residents. Afterwards, they went to the community room to do puzzles together. Both students and residents enjoy each other's company each month! What a great experience for these students!
The Jane Addams staff had their annual holiday gathering to share in some games, laughs, and fun! (Not all who were able to join made the group photo unfortunately) We appreciate all they do for the students and families at our school!
All City Musical will be here before we know it!! It's on March 21st performing Finding Nemo! Students are learning songs, practicing lines and starting to practice their dances, so now is the time to begin supporting our musical through sponsorship opportunities.
